Old vines and low yields are the key to high quality aligoté. Francois’ oldest vines are over 80-years, planted in 1935, and produce an electrically refreshing wine which clearly shows Burgundy’s limestone soils. The grapes are hand harvested under the same strict regime as the domaine employs for all their wines, and given a full year in old oak barrels before bottling. Serious stuff, really direct and refreshing. It is great to be able to see Francois’ talent in such an affordable wine!
