From one of the very best parts of the extensive Corton Grand Cru, with 30 year old vines planted on a steep slope facing east. Its red clay soils are rich in iron oxide which seems to add structure and finesse to its wines. This really needs ten years to show its full complexity and potential.
About the Domaine
Domaine Dubreuil Fontaine is now run by Christine Gruère-Dubreuil, one of the leading female winemakers in the Cote D’Or. Her wines are fine-boned, elegant, and delightfully pure. This family domaine was established in 1879, and its 20 hectares cover holdings in 6 villages of the Côte de Beaune, including a Monopole within Pernand Vergelesses. The 2016 reds show the vintage’s low yields in their concentration but have not lost Christine’s hallmark elegance or freshness; they are refined, mineral wines that will age well.
