Domaine SAINT ANDRÉ DE FIGUIÈRE

Provence

This dynamic domaine was created by Burgundian Alain Combard in the early 1990’s and is now run by his children. Their range of Rosé are quintessentially Provençal, palest pink and absolutely perfect for drinking in the sunshine.

Background

Alain Combard, alongside his friend Michel Laroche, created one of Chablis’ best known domaines in the 1970s before selling up in the late 1980s. Needing a new challenge and feeling the call of the south, he began to explore Provence, looking for a place to make fine wines. A fan of Rosé, he wanted to see if, by carefully adopting Burgundian viticultural methods, he could produce pink wines that would stand at table against the world’s great whites. After a number of years searching he found Saint-André de Figuière, an old estate that had already been run organically for a decade or more, but was in need of investment.

Alain’s children have now taken over, but his philosophy continues and the wines are better than ever.

Current Vintages

RoséVintage
Utterly classic Provençal Rosé made for drinking in the sun. The Le Saint André is light pink, bursting with mouthwatering strawberry and peach flavours and finishing with a citrus twist. The (super) market is awash with generic pink plonk, ignore them, buy this instead. It is characterful, brilliant value and absolutely delicious.
2021
Blending Cabernet, Syrah, Cinsault & Grenache grown on a mix of Schist and clay the Magali shows more depth and concentration than Le Saint André but it is still the classic Provençal pale pink. Beautiful nose, a basket of red berries, citrus and a touch of mint. Refreshing and juicy on the palate, with a succulent, apricot like heart, pineapple and strawberry fruit and a long peachy finish with hints of dried herbs. A super wine from one of Provence's best producers that really slakes the thirst in style.
2021
Organic. Elegant, refined rosé with the classic skittle shaped bottle. A bit more Mouvedre, Provence’s best grape, in the blend gives structure and stylish fruit.
2021
Organic. Grown on schist these wines compare with the very best Provence can offer. The Rose is made entirely in steel, the better to capture its glorious, just-ripe strawberry fruit and refreshing acidity. More than a match for any angel you care to mention.
2018
White WinesVintage
100% Vermentino fermented in stainless steel to retain its zippy freshness.
2021

Provence rosé with bubbles. Genius. Every bit as refreshing and delicious as it sounds.
