Domaine PREIGNES LE NEUF
The Laserre family own and manage this large estate, a fine source for well made, inexpensive but characterful wines.
Background
The Chateau at Preignes le Neuf is a beautiful classical building sitting in a sea of vines and garrigue. Owned for five generations by the Laserre family the entire operation is proof that big can be beautiful and production figures don’t tell us much about quality. These are great wines, well made, precise, characterful and importantly, fantastic value. They are proving extremely popular as house wines across London.
The domaine is certified sustainable by Terra Vitis and is moving towards organic viticulture.
Current Vintages
White | Vintage |
---|---|
Tour des Pins, Vermentino/Chardonnay [Read More] 50% Vermentino and 50% Chardonnay fermented with natural yeasts in stainless steel to give a fruity and very gluggable wine. | 2019 |
Viognier [Read More] 100% Viognier picked early and fermented in stainless steel to emphasise freshness. Whilst recognisably Viognier in its floral and apricot perfume this wine avoids the heaviness that many southern French examples can show. | 2019 |
Red | Vintage |
---|---|
Cuvee Garrigue Rouge [Read More] Merlot, Syrah and Grenache blend to produce a wine of remarkable depth and character given the price point. Notes of dried herbs and flowers speak of its southern heritage while the merlot gives a pleasing richness to its body. Really terrific value. | 2018 |
