Château LANGLET

Graves

The Kressmann family of Château Latour-Martillac acquired this 1-hectare site surrounded by pine forests at the northern edge of the Foret des Landes in 1999.

Background

The Kressmans fell in love with the estate and its history and jumped at the chance to acquire it. Based in the commune of Cabanac-et-Villagrains, in the township of La Brède, Château Langlet has been known for the quality of its wine for at least two centuries. The Château sits on a large pile of gravel, free draining, the classic terroir of Graves. The family invested heavily in the vineyards and winery, lowered yields and did everything possible to return the Château to its past glories. They have succeeded admirably and the Château is now the source for two of our most popular wines, with both the red and white wines showing great quality year after year and providing great pleasure, and value too.

The white is 100% Sauvignon Blanc and barrel fermented giving it the profile of a good Pessac Léognan, plenty of fresh grapefruit on the nose and an exotic fruit flavour and full texture on the palate. The red blends 80% Merlot with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon to produce a deeply coloured and expressive wine, not so tannic it can’t be approached young, but with the tannin to match with a wide range of food.
