A chance encounter with the wines from this Domaine whilst on holiday in the Luberon valley has turned out to be a real break. This dynamic domaine was created by Alain Combard in the early 1990’s and is now run by his children. The Rosé, quintessentially Provençal in appearance and flavour, is what drew me in, particularly the organically farmed wines from grapes grown on mica and schist.  However they also make fine structured white from Vermentino (Rolle) and Semillon, and have also have vineyards in the new appellation of La Londe.  Enterprising, focused and successful, they have invested back in the Domaine including a new cuverie, and have just launched a Provençal Méthode Champenoise ‘Atmosphere’.  All their wines are brilliantly made, including some delicious reds, and equally brilliantly presented.
